We spent three weeks at the house and it was amazing!The garden is beautiful, the house is very spacious and the swimming pool was lovely.Pushpa's breakfasts were delicious and her son, Canu was readily available to take us around in his tuk tuk.The location is close to Unawatuna and not too far from Galle either.Just a really unique and beautiful place to stay.Piers was also an excellent and responsive host.Absolutely loved our time there!!

Es war eine wunderschöne Unterkunft! Sehr ruhig, alles super sauber. Der Pool war unfassbar schön und viel größer als erwartet! We've stayed 9 places around Sri Lanka from tree houses to modern villas and beach huts - this was definitely our favourite.The place has loads of charm, it's in a beautiful & peaceful location whilst also being just a short walk to the beach, bars, restaurants, shops and activities.The way the rocks are incorporated into the house and swimming pool is unique and the slide is a great touch.The sitting area on the edge of the garden with views to Galle and a pagoda just add to it. On top of all that the staff are amazing especially Pushpa's meals which were delicious and always served with a friendly smile (dinner was a lot cheaper than eating out).The host Piers was always on hand to help and stopped by for a friendly chat.We found the place got better the longer we stayed and wish we could of stayed longer! We could not have wished for a more perfect way to conclude our Sri Lankan adventure! We stayed for two nights with our 3 kids at Pier’s place. It’s Paradise on Earth! Beautiful house, incredible pool, wonderful nature, all nestled in the most gorgeous natural hilltop setting. Secluded and private, yet very walkable to the buzzy main drag of Unawatuna, and walking distance to the beach if you ever want a change of scenery from the house and pool - which to be honest are so lovely we didn’t really! Pushpa, Devika and Titus looked after us very well and we had THE BEST time. The only downside was that we were very very sad to leave!

What a lovely and peaceful place! The sound of the birds, the wind in the trees, the water in the pool. It was absolutely idyllic at the top of Rumasalla overlooking Unawatuna, a great place to be a close enough to the little beach, village and jungle Beach and still just a few minutes to escape to your own jungle retreat. The team took great care of us. Breakfast was tasty and plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the little jungle garden. The courtyard room is nice if you have a member of the group that needs a little bit more privacy and I loved opening up the house each day to fully embrace the clean Sri Lankan air. They could not have been more friendly or more welcoming, and I loved how much of the home and garden were carved into the local rocks. BOOK IT!We did 3 nights in March 2026- Location (10 min walk to the town & beach) Its situated in a peaceful area with stunning views and glimpses of the sea and a 10 min walk to the beautiful town & beach. The only noises you can hear are from the wildlife (peacocks, chipmunks, monkeys etc).- House/grounds (private and breathtaking views)It’s even better than the pictures! All the rooms were clean and tidy and the grounds are swept every morning. There are so many stunning areas but the pool has to be the best! It’s a lot bigger than expected and the slide just tops it off!- Staff (welcoming and helpful) The team ensured we had a great stay; they cooked us amazing Sri Lankan breakfasts and were extremely helpful but also gave us our privacy. The night guard is also a lovely man who was extremely welcoming.- Host (goes above and beyond) Piers came and personally greeted us & made great recommendations. We had a fantastic time at Piers place for the start of our Sri Lanka trip. Super responsive & helpful before, throughout and after our stay, check-in very welcoming and easy to settle in. The staff is also worth their weight in gold. I was traveling alone with two very young kids and they had so much fun, exploring the house and property which is truly stunning and unique. Just like the photos. It’s located on top of a hill, built into rocks, set in a magnificent garden and you’re surrounded by nature. It feels very private due to the size, we didn’t hear anything, it was super peaceful. We always took a tuktuk up and down the hill, but you could probably walk it too if you want. There are some restaurants close by, if you don’t feel like going down to the beach. The house is beautiful, feels modern and rustic at the same time, very open and clean. Plus it has all the amenities you’ll need. Additionally Pushpa is always there to make sure you’re not missing anything. Breakfast was 👌

WOW! Our stay at Hanuman Hill house was better than we could have imagined!!! Pushpa and Piers made our stay so relaxing, the property is a paradise and is private but very walkable to Unawatuna town. 11/10 stay would recommend to anyone - the stay here was very special!
